Job Opportunity: Pipefitter Apprentice near Ragley, LA

Evers & Sons is seeking Pipefitter Apprentices that will assist Pipefitters in the installation, maintenance, and inspection of various types of preparation, welding, and weld-finished operations to complete projects to customer specifications.

A GED or high school diploma and/or two years of relevant experience.


  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Enrolled in trade school and/or registered apprenticeship program (Evers will assist with this if needed)
  • Be highly focused on customer satisfaction expectations
  • Must be extremely detail-oriented with proven strong time-management and organizational skills

  • Follows directions and works hand in hand with the assigned Pipefitter on the project
  • Regular attendance at assigned location; may include project site or classroom
  • Measure, cut, thread, or bend pipe to the required angle using hand or power tools or machines such as pipe cutters, pipe-threading machines, or pipe-bending machines
  • Locate and mark the position of pipe installations, connections, passage holes, or fixtures in structures using measuring instruments such as rulers or levels
  • Test pipes or fixtures for leaks using various methods
  • Assemble pipe sections, tubing, or fittings using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvent, caulking, soldering, or brazing equipment
  • Install pipe assemblies, fittings, valves, appliances, or fixtures using hand or power tools
  • Detect faulty operation of equipment or defective materials and notify supervisors
  • Must maintain strict adherence to safety rules and quality standards
  • Participate in site housekeeping;
  • Interacts with co-workers in an attentive, courteous manner;
  • Notify the supervisor and address potential safety hazards in a timely fashion
  • Be professional and courteous in dealings with customers and/or vendors
  • Follow all Company policies and procedures and obtain certifications at Company/Client request, including but not limited to BBP, Onsite Orientations, First Aid, CPR, Annual OSHA Training, PEC, H2S

Physical Demands and Work Environment

The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those the employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this position and the environmental conditions likely encountered during the performance. The employee will be regularly required to communicate and effectively exchange information with other employees. The employee will be required to stand, climb, stoop, kneel, or crouch and move about in a construction environment, including being able to reach with hands and arms. The employee will be required to lift and move up to 15 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision acuity, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will be exposed to outside weather conditions, including wet or humid conditions, fumes, airborne particles, and moving mechanical parts and equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate; however, some occasional high noise levels may be expected.
